EMERGENCY OXYGEN PROVIDER

 

Description: In this course you will learn the basics of providing emergency oxygen to a patient in need. Breathing oxygen is a vital element of efficient first aid to injured divers. This course will show you how to safely administer pure oxygen in an emergency situation. Also learn how to use a bag-valve mask and MTV-100 (manually triggered ventilator).

HAZARDOUS MARINE LIFE INJURIES

 

Description: In our lakes and oceans live several species of marine life that can cause injuries ranging from minor to severe, depending on the case. During this course, you will learn how to treat different types of injuries, some of which require very specific remedies depending on the creature that caused them. A very interesting course for avid divers.

NEUROLOGICAL EXAM

 

Description: Learn how to perform a neurological assessment. During this course we will teach you how to execute various exercises destined to help you draft a preliminary neurological assessment of a patient. This assessment can be of great use to paramedics and physicians who will later take charge of the injured person, and more specifically cases where decompression sickness is suspected. The neurological exam is also useful to convince suspected victim of DCS to seek and/or accept medical care.

CPR FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS

 

Description: This course is ideal to increase your knowledge and skill level as a emergency care provider. A very popular course for all those who crave first aid knowledge.

Description: This course covers several important subjects in diving: Decompression illness, barotraumas, good judgement in diving, equipment issues, severe allergic reactions,  Epipen administration and taking blood pressure.

DIVE MEDICINE PART 1

 

Description: When you want to know more than just basic first aid techniques, this program is for you. This modular program includes sections on fitness to dive, safety planning and basic physical examinations.

DIVING EMERGENCY SPECIALIST

 

Description: You have successfully completed your Diving emergency management provider (DEMP) training program and Rescue course and wish to become a Diving emergency specialist?

DIVE MEDICINE PART 3

 

Description: This course covers gas toxicity, partial pressure, drowning, use of an otoscope and care provider related issues.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND FIRST AID

FIRST AID FOR PROFESSIONAL DIVERS

 

Description : This program is intended for divers who are required to have first aid, CPR and oxygen first aid training prior to diving as part of their job responsibilities. It combines the key skills of CPR and first aid training with the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries, HMLI and Neurological Exam.

Pre-requisites: Have an affiliation with a scientific, university, aquarium or commercial diving operation or other workplace diving program.
